Last summer, I spent a month getting lost and finding my way, literally and figuratively, in Prague, Vienna, Berlin and Paris. I put one foot in front of the other, moving through and opening myself to overwhelming beauty, space, art, architecture and history. I went to Europe to explore my identity, to free and delineate myself physically, emotionally and intellectually from a complex personal history of internal perceptions and preoccupations, to confront the concept of duality, connect with people and places outside my everyday sphere of existence and to awaken to the freshness of possibility. This collection of paintings is about a journey that informed my past and is a part of my time forward.
